NLP, Neuro-Linguistic Programming As a Cure for Social Anxiety and Depression

NLP can cure social anxiety disorder, depression and any condition where you are a slave to your own negative thoughts. Ever wonder why you often make the same emotional mistakes over and over again? Or feel the same way about certain things, no matter how much you will yourself not to?

It's because your subconscious has a very, very long memory. It remembers things in detail your conscious mind has long forgotten. This includes sounds, images, smells and even emotional responses. We're talking about millions of impressions per second that don't get completely lost. This information is then processed and interpreted mostly while you sleep. The brain will interpret this information in the way it thinks is the best.
Often, this information is interpreted in a way that is actually harmful to our perception. For instance in our case, if we think "Please don't talk to me cause I'll blush" or "Oh no, I hate mingling. I'm so shy" your brain will start to search for evidence to back up these beliefs. When it does, it'll become a truth in your "mind's eye". And the more often you think these thoughts, the more often it becomes THE truth. You no longer "think" you're unworthy and unloved. You really "believe" that you are. It's a vicious circle.

But the same is true with positive thoughts. That's why these self-help books are true when they tell you to look in the mirror and tell yourself how "great you are!"

So you weren't born with social anxiety disorder. It's your memories and experiences that are mostly to blame!

NLP stands for Neuro-Linguistic Programming. NLP is basically a way to communicate to your subconscious mind and get rid of these negative perceptions. This is done by communicating positive belief-systems that will literally reprogram our way of thinking about ourselves. The vicious circle can become a positive one in which you can replace a negative thought with a positive one before your brain interprets it. Your brain becomes trained to do this automatically.

So I started this therapy 6 weeks ago and it's done absolute wonders for me. Even just to change internal states, like from feeling panicky and overwhelmed to feeling calm and in control. With my social anxiety disorder nearly gone, I definitely recommend it. There's even ways to use these psychological techniques to influence people and beef up your persuasion and sales skills!
