Since the launch of the movie, "The Secret", the Law of Attraction concept has swept the whole self improvement industry off its feet. Prior to that, there certainly weren't as many gurus advocating the
importance of Law of Attraction as now.
As such, some of our NLP practitioners are concerned about using the Law of Attraction in conjunction with their newly learned NLP strategies and NLP techniques.
Are NLP and the Law of Attraction mutually exclusive?
Certainly not! In contrary, NLP actually works hand in hand with the Law of Attraction.
You probably already know that it is essential for you to be able to visualize vividly in your mind's eyes the desired outcomes before you can even turn them into reality.
And in NLP, you will learn one helpful visualization technique that can greatly enhance your visualization effects. As a matter of fact, this is also one NLP technique that gives you an idea of how your mental rehearsal works.
5 Steps NLP Visualization Technique
1) Set your goal. Know what you want. First, you have to decide in exact detail what it is that you like to achieve. If there is one reason why so many people are unable to achieve success in life or in applying the NLP techniques, it will be their lack of understanding of what they truly want.
2) Next, you will want to be able to see, hear and feel yourself doing the task or achieve your desired outcome exactly as you want. See yourself in a dissociated mental picture first. This means you should be able to see yourself in the picture. When being dissociated, the emotions you experienced are likely to be less obvious.
3) Increase the intensity of your experience by working on the various submodalities. In NLP, submodalities refer to the finer distinctions of the way you represent your thoughts using your 5 senses. Some submodalities that you can possibly work on includes
* Size of the picture
* Location of the picture
* Was there something that you were picturing in your mind when you were feeling confident?
* Brightness of the picture etc.
Your main intention is to paint the picture or movie as vivid and as strong as possible. The richer the details, the more powerful the NLP visualization technique process will be.
For instance, try increasing the brightness and the size of the picture of your desired outcome now. Does it intensify your positive experience? What about bringing the picture slightly closer towards you? Does it make your outcome even more compelling?
In addition to the above mentioned visual submodalities, you also can engage the others submodalities, like the auditory and kinaesthetic of aspects of them. And of course, the purpose is to intensify the experience as much as possible.
4) Next, associate into the picture. This means you will step into the "scene" and see, hear and feel what you would have seen, heard and felt as if you were doing it. In other words, you are seeing things through your own eyes. By doing so, you should notice the emotions within you intensifying.
5) If you want to, you can also utilize another NLP technique known as "anchoring" on the positive feeling. This may include associating this positive experience with the touch of your knuckle or shouting a big resounding "Yes" to yourself!
