You will be able to explore real archaeological sites, learn the culture and history of the Dena'ina. Many artifacts can be seen and to remember your journey here you can shop in the gift store.

To see one of the most historical places in Soldotna visit the Historical Society Museum where the original last school still stands of the territories, complete with all that the students used and needed in those days. An original homesteaders log village is also on the agenda to give you a feeling of what their lives must have been like when they first found their way here.

See the historical Iditarod Trail and walk upon it and learn all about how the Alaskan Railroad came to be at KMTA National Heritage. This community still is home to some historical and colorful people ready to share their stories and legends of the Alaskan frontier with you. Some say that there are a lot of ghosts of settlers from days past still here as well.

The West Entrance Skilak Lake Road stretches 18 miles that forms a loop. Here is one of the best spots to see all types of wildlife which calls the Peninsula of Kenai their home. The many glaciers and lakes found will make excellent snap shots for vacation memories. For the fishermen, you can visit the Lake Overlook Upper Ohmer for some peace and serenity as well as catching the best rainbow trout.

The most popular ones are considered to be the Bed and Breakfast Inns, the Wilderness and the Bear Viewing lodges.
