The fifth principle is supervision. This is about maintaining good relations between the parties involved in the exercise. People are different with different temperaments. At times, these people may collide. Some may disagree with the methods of others. Supervision is about making sure that these disagreements do not get in the way of work. That the different personalities and points of view are taken into account and used for the benefit of the system. Supervision also has an instructions aspect. Then there is control. Rules separate human beings from animals. Without guides and rules, there will be no way to ensure accountability. This principle is all about audits, policies, budgets and other systems of policing the system. Control is great for noticing cracks before they become ridges too.
