Information About The Website Belize Connection And The Country

By Gwen Lowe

Belize, located in Central America, has been a British crown colony since the 1800s. Since that time, the country has gradually moved toward independence, from being a representative government of England to a self-governing nation with its own ministerial system, and full independence in 1981. Today, the country is popular with tourists and retiree immigrants. The website Belize connection aims to share as much information as possible for businesses and visitors.

The country has nearly nine thousand square miles of land and a population of more than three hundred thousand as of 2013. This makes the lowest population density in all of Central America. The country has the second largest population growth rate in the region. There is an abundance of terrestrial land and many marine species in its diverse ecosystems.

The society is also very diverse, with many different cultures and languages existing together. The country was originally part of the British Empire, and shares its colonial history with many other Caribbean countries. It used to be named British Honduras until 1973. In 1981, the country became an independent Commonwealth state, and Queen Elizabeth II remains as the head of state.

The average yearly temperature there is around 84 F. Breezes from the Caribbean Sea as well as the jungle and rainforests help to keep the temperatures from getting too hot in the summer months. The winters tend to be very short as well, lasting from November to March. It is very rare for the temperature there to fall below 60 F. The dry season lasts between February and May which means lower rainfall in the country than the rest of the year.

The wettest season tends to be between June and December. During this time certain parts of the country can receive almost two hundred inches of rain. Sometimes there are wild storms which originate from the Caribbean Sea. The most rainfall normally happens in June or July.

The country is a parliamentary constitutional monarchy, which means that the structure of its government is based on the U. K. Parliamentary system. The legal system is also modelled after the common law system of England. Queen Elizabeth II is still the head of state and has the title Queen of Belize. The Queen is represented there by a Governor-General, whom she appoints.

Terese Fegan, who is a native of Belize, created the website on her own. She explains that she got the idea when she was searching for something constructive to do while using various social media sites. The website was developed when more of her friends and associates began reaching out to her in social media.

As more and more friends were added to her social media websites, she started to group them together into various categories. She had many businesses from her home country wanting to connect with her, so she began to organize her lists and place them into fan pages, and this is how her site started. She gradually developed the page and realized that she was actually allowing these businesses to have free advertising on her site. She then started to network and develop ways to improve her business model.
