Financial Stress Do's & Don'ts By Robert Jain

By Jason McDonald

No matter how little or how much we have of it, money can still create problems. For proof of this, all you have to do is consider the topic of financial stress, which many people suffer from. While some experience it more than others, even to the point where it prevents them from living life to the fullest, this doesn't change the fact that it's a serious problem. For a better understanding of how this can be alleviated, here are some do's & don'ts provided by Robert Jain.

DO create goals that can be reached. According to names such as Bob Jain, some goals can be reached easier than others. For example, it doesn't take much effort, outside of willpower, to spend less money on coffee each money. When you get into developing an emergency savings account, however, there are more facets to account for. Nonetheless, goal setting will allow you to make better financial situations, reducing stress in the process.

DON'T overlook the importance of sleep. If you aren't sleeping well, financial stress can develop further. After all, when you lack sufficient rest, your mental wellbeing will take a hit. Not only will you be unable to work at the level expected of you, but it's possible that the aforementioned type of stress can develop as well. The recommended number of hours of sleep is eight, so aim for this goal on a nightly basis.

DO make note of what debt you have. From there, figure out ways to eliminate it, as this will go a long way in reducing financial stress. There are many common debts that people must pay, ranging from credit card bills to student loans. Understand the debts that you have to pay so that you can be more proactive in clearing them. You will be surprised by how far this goes in terms of eliminating financial stress.

DON'T let triggers of stress go unrecognized. You may be able to alleviate the symptoms of financial stress, but this doesn't mean that the causes will go away. Determine what's causing you financial stress in the first place. Is work a prominent factor? Did something happen in your personal life that resulted in money being tight? These are just a few examples, but knowing how to cure the causes will make this type of stress easier to cope with.
