Overview For Stage Lighting And Types Of Lights

By Christa Jarvis

Working the pieces together in a scene, stage, or set up for performances on concerts, would take a lot of work with different elements that needs to be well sewn together. Most of the concern would be for props, physical setup, lighting, and sometimes cameras. All of these should go together and blend in to give that perfect setup.

Lights in a scene contribute so much to the gaze and focus of every audience. Stage lighting Chicago managers have full control over what they want the on lookers to focus on and this creates the perfect mood and ambience for the performers, too. Placing them appropriately could be a great way to successful setup.

Basically, what you need to know first are fixtures for the lighting. Designers can use many varieties of these and this will all depend on what it is used for. It should be crucial to know the power requirements for every fixture. 500 watts for 2.1 amps, 650 for 2.7, 1000 for 4.2., 1200 for 5.0, 2000 for 8.3. Knowing this can prevent from busted lights especially during those events and performances.

These lights are not the same and come in varying degrees and shapes. There is a Wash Light that what it emits are soft beams which makeshift the way natural light shines. The size of it is easy t adjust and the sources for it can be blended with each other, too. Theatre stages are the ones mostly utilizing this.

Spotlights are, of course, to give focus on a subject, although they can somehow be quite difficult to control. These are usually used in rock concerts since it has the intensity needed to produce that aesthetic sharp and hard feel on stage. They work with many colors and all the light are inside the bulb which makes the fixture less expensive, although the bulb itself is actually expensive.

A flat kind of light that is not used for the front parts and subjects is called a Flood Light. They are entirely widespread and simplistic fixtures but the intensity and coverage may be adjusted accordingly. They are mostly used for the backgrounds and props. But the sizes are fixed though, but they do come in different ones.

In theatre plays, the director for lighting should be able to go along with their rehearsals in order to get the perfect mood for each scene. There needs to be control on which the audience should focus by highlighting an area. They should also determine the mood, composition, and revelation of the form of the actors.

Coordinators and also managers for the physical equipment should take into consideration the lighting, since this can either make or break the whole scene. You would not want to have the scene to turn out flat and boring just because there seems to be less emotion because of bad lighting. Play around with the colors, angles, and other aspects.

The lights should be strategically placed in key places. This can be determined depending on the the scene for plays, the positions of instrumentalists and singers for concerts like in Chicago, IL. There are techniques like focusing two beam on an actor with them being forty five degrees pointing towards them to create a three dimensional effect.
