Amazingly Weird National Holidays Worth Joining In

Festivities are important for people. This is a way for them to have an excuse for drinking. It can also be because they just want to take a day off. Whatever the reason, festivities are important parts of live. Even weird national holidays are appreciated. Here are some of those peculiar festivities that you can enjoy nowadays.

DAY OF THE SEA. This is actually a commemoration of a battle that occurred in the Port of Calama. In this battle, the Bolivian lost the battle to the Chilean forces. The Port of Calama, back then, is the last ocean-front property that the Bolivians have so losing it to the Chilean forces actually made a great impact on the country.

The Korean Alphabet Day is next. This is the event that Korean's host in honor of their comprehensive alphabet. As all people know, the Koreans have lots of letters included in their alphabet. Their alphabet allows them to have proper communication with each other and even with the world. It is a celebration that is worth the festivities.

The National Punctuation Day is oftentimes referred to as a counterpart of the Alphabet Day. Instead of alphabets, the stuff being celebrated is punctuations. People are encouraged to get their newspapers and read them to find the erroneous punctuations. Street signs and store front displays are also included here.

National Weatherperson's Day. Professionals who appear on your television to show you your daily weather forecast, with their suit-and-tie uniform as well as their impeccable speech, are called weatherpersons. These people have their own day set aside for them. The Weatherperson's Day allows people to celebrate the noble work of these professionals.

BERMUDA DAY. If you are on a tropical island, then weather reports are not always your main concern daily. However, you still need to have an idea on when it is already fine to wear shorts to your business meetings. When you are in Bermuda, you can consider May 24 as the day when it is okay for you to do that. Swimming in the beach officially starts during this day too.

The Blessed Rain Day is a native festival of Bhutan. This is meant as a celebration for the stopping of the monsoon season. Since Bhutan is a place that is always ravaged by the monsoons, the people here are asked to celebrate this holiday by outdoor bathing with mythically purified natural waters.

MELON DAY. It might not make sense to some but there is actually a country that celebrates the creation of the popular crossbreed of muskmelons. In Turkmenistan, you get the day off during August 12 because you need to join in the festivities for the celebration of Turkmenbashi melons and muskmelons in general.

Picnic Day is a day for those living in Northern Australia. When this day comes, you can just go to the Adelaide River. You will usually have to go there on the first Monday of August and participate in the three-day event. The festivity of the said day should allow you to bond together with the entire family.
